Each event is an opportunity for amateur musicians to have a go. Although the venues are open to the public and guests are welcome to watch, the workshops are a non-judgemental environment rather than professional entertainment and most of all are just plain old good fun for participants and observers.
The idea is to bring along your own instrument (or voice). We have a PA, a drum set some amps and several mics. Acoustic guitars can be plugged in to the PA or bring your own practice amp. We have singers, guitarists, keyboard players, bass players, drummers and more! Anyone is welcome. When you arrive just find the organiser and put your name and the songs you are interested in playing down on the list so we can take turns. You may wish to fly solo, invite others to join in or form a band with someone else.
Special features include free live recording of your set on the amazing Fostex LR16 Live recording mixer (yes 16 track symultaneous recording)! opportunities to showcase your act at speical Auditions events and gain gigs at the Sat night PJ Rocks events!
Mailing List: Get regular email updates about the bands playing in your local area and the upcoming Music Workshops. Register your interest via the contact page. Your information is only used to send you reminder notices relating to the Music Workshop and emails are sent by blind copy.
Promote your gig! We recommend you promote your gigs via the free Canberra Gig Guide (see the links page) then send us the link to your event so we can send it on in our email news to members.
Live Karaoke: You can join in with the workshop jam sessions as a singer and ask them to play your favourite song - if its not on the list we'll learn it for next time!
